Job at home

I've done a lot of research on line and came across a company that does 'hire' you as a contractor to work from home. It's called liveops. They offer both inbound and outbound calls for sales. You work your own schedule. I'm gonna give it a try and see how it goes.

I'm still having some of those snapses and can't seem to make it through it the day without having to lie down. I don't really sleep much when I do, but it seems to refresh me enough to get things done.

Fatigue

I am just so tired. I try getting up and doing things but I wind up just sitting down from exhaustion. This is sooo not me. I used to play softball, take lonnnnggg walks, hike in the woods and by the lake. There are so many things that I used to do and now just can't seem to do. I wish I could make people understand how hard it is for me. I feel like I'm on the verge of going to sleep all throughout the day. Does that explain it? I wonder.

Enjoying the day

I'm sitting on my back porch just enjoying the day. It's sunny for a change! With all the rain we've had the grass is green, flowers are blooming, the birds are really singing and the mosquitoes are breeding! Not sure mosquitoes was your best idea God!

I'm still having withdrawal symptoms. According to this web site they could go on for a year.....Fun! Wish I'd seen this before I took myself off these darn drugs.

One of the side effects of taking all kinds of medication is weight. Boy I sure have put on the weight! I am working on that now. I feel so uncomfortable. I know I gained 25 pounds just before and during recovery of my surgery. It really sucks! It was like I knew it was happening but couldn't do anything to stop it! Now that my arms and shoulders feel okay again and the drugs are leaving my system I'm getting more active physically. I have to!

A job or work from home

So with all the pain and fatigue, I've started looking for some work from home jobs. I've set up a small office and have been doing lots of research. I started this blog as part of my research. I thought it would be a good way to learn how to blog and get myself used to doing something constructive. One thing I haven't figured out yet is how to put a link in here. It should be easy enough, but I guess when you teach yourself as you go the way I do, it's not gonna come easy.

There are a lot of different kinds of on line jobs and all kinds of scams but I am determined to find a way to make some money and have my games too! Now that's addiction! I've been playing games on facebook and I'm totally addicted to them.

I've had a lot of pain today. Achy joints and some muscle spasms.

Surgery

Last year on the 4th of July weekend I woke up with some pretty severe pain in my right shoulder, neck and arm. When I went to the Doctor and he sent me for an x-ray but he was pretty certain I had a slipped disc in my neck. He had me take some steroids to try and heal it and get rid of my pain and to also get MRI.

Well, I took the prescription...6 the first day, 5 the next, etc. The following Monday, after taking the whole scrip, I started experiencing a very weird feeling. It was like my brain was shutting down! I felt like I had to think about it to even breathe! I felt like I may even become unconscious! I had my husband take me to the emergency room because I was so scared about what was happening to me. I told them I felt like I was going to pass out. They drew blood, took my pulse, blood pressure and connected me to a heart monitor. It was very difficult to put into words what was wrong because my brain was not working right. Seriously! I thought I might be having a stroke but they could not find anything wrong! I slowly began feeling more and more normal so they sent me home and said to go see my regular Doctor.

It's funny sometimes how things happen, but on the way home from the hospital my doctor called me!

He said my MRI showed a slipped disc, a large bone spur and a fluid filled bubble in my spine called a syrinx. When I told him about my visit to the ER, he said that it's possible I was having a reaction to the steroids. He told me he wanted me to see a Neurosurgeon about what the MRI had shown.

The surgeon let me know right away that he was not overly concerned about the syrinx because I was not having any symptoms from it. What a big relief that was!

To treat my slipped disc, he had me go through a few weeks of physical therapy, a cortizone shot in my neck and then eventually surgery in November. The surgery went well he said, everything looked great! Only one problem, I said. My left thumb and part of my hand are numb! Hmmm he said. We'll keep an eye on that. At my first after surgery check-up, I let him know that I now had pain in my left arm and my hand was about a third numb. He told me to take my pills and come back in a few weeks. Lots of pain pills and muscle relaxers later he sent me back to the physical therapist cause there was nothing else he could do.

Luckily my PT did help me. She massaged muscles and had me do a very simple exercise that brought the feeling back in my hand. I got off those dang pills. Amazing! No pills and no pain!

Now back to work!
I went back to work for 2 weeks. Then I quit. I just couldn't do it! 9 hours a day with only 2, 20 minute breaks (no lunch break) They expected more work than what I had been doing 6 months earlier and truth is, my Fibro seems to have gotten worse during that 6 month time also. The fogginess and the fatigue were more than I could handle.

My Fibro

I was diagnosed as having fibromyalgia syndrome about 6 years ago. I may have had some of the symptoms most of my life and just didn't know it. I also had a bad car accident that may have triggered it all. I think the worst part for me is the fatigue. I wake up tired most of the time. It's really hard to get going when 3 cups of coffee barely wakes you up!

Wikipedia defines it : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia
and doctors diagnose it : http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fibromyalgia/ds00079
But I am trying to live with it.

When I was first diagnosed my doctor put me on an anti-depressant, ibuprofen and a mild muscle relaxer. After I took the first dose, I fell asleep. Now I had just gotten up, taken a shower, ate and got dressed for work. I woke up about 2 1/2 hours later....late for work. I had already missed a couple of days before because I had very severe back and shoulder pain. I didn't know at the time but those are just some of the symptoms. My doctor had me change to another medication. It seemed to work better.

After about 3 years,I voluntarily went through a clinical test trial to try out a new drug specifically designed for fibro, but I had to stop the anti-depressant cold turkey and just couldn't handle the withdrawal synptoms. So I went back on the medication.

Now after 6 years and trying another anti-depressant he has suggested something else. It's a new drug that is actually approved by the FDA for Fibro.

I'm currently trying to get off the anti-depressant but I'm having withdrawal symptoms that have gone on for 4 weeks now. Nobody told me that the medication I had been taking is one of the hardest drugs to quit. I'm not even sure my doctor knows how hard it would be. It's not addictive, but withdrawing from it is horrible.

I'm so tired of being tired and of taking drugs that don't really fix anything.

My First Post

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what kind of treasures one might find here, but I'm certainly going to give it my best shot. There are millions of people blogging about one thing or another and I need to find my own unique niche.

I do have one unique story to tell. It's about how I met and married my husband on Halloween 5 years ago.

When I was 10 years old, my family moved into our first house. It was across town so my brother, sister and I went to a new school. I started 5th grade there. Being in a new school made me quite nervous of course, but in that new school, I met Indiana Jones. I call him that because of the many adventures we eventually had together.

He had a crush on me immediately! Flattering for me, you betcha! I don't remember all of the exact details, but we shared a lot of great moments together.

We were both good in school, which was another part of the attraction. We walked home together on nice days and shared a bus seat on others. Once a month there were dances in the gym on Friday night and we danced. Awkwardly, but just the same it was fun.

In 6th grade, we joined a bowling league on Saturday mornings that taught us how to bowl. His mom drove us. He tried to kiss me while we sat in the back seat of her car. He asked me to "go steady" with him and he gave me his initial ring. My mom said I was to young for that kind of thing and made me give it back. It really hurt him. We stayed in the same class through 8th grade but we never really shared the same kind of closeness after that.

We never had any classes together in high school so we just went our separate ways the way friends sometimes do.

I got married after graduation in 1970 and had 2 children. My starter husband decided after 14 years that he got married to young and realized he had fallen in love with someone else. We divorced in 1984 and I began looking for a life. I hadn't worked at a real job since before my son was born in 1971. I didn't know what I wanted to do except make enough money to support me and my 2 kids.

I became involved and lived with several different men throughout the years but did not get re-married. All of them were bad relationships. So bad that I thought I had had my one and only marriage.

After one particularly bad relationship, I started spending a lot of time at home, alone. I had bought my own home and had a pretty good job. Then I bought a computer and got on the internet. That sounds like such an understatement considering how much my life has changed because of that one small purchase!

Around Halloween of 2001, I signed up for Classmates.com looking for an old 'girl' friend. One that I had met in 5th grade so many years ago and had lost touch with. Well, as luck would have it, she wasn't on there.
I have since found her and a few others.

But much to my surprise, there was Indy! I emailed him, we talked on the phone and the rest has been one wonderful life. He was in California and recently single. Seems his wife of 14 years flew off to Australia to be with someone she met online and thought was gonna make her life sooo wonderful. Unlucky for her....he was already married.

Lucky for me! I traveled to visit him and see if we might rekindle that old spark, which we did! I spent the week of Thanksgiving there. What a wonderful time we had. In February of 2002 I flew back and we packed up his stuff and drove across the country together. We stopped at the Grand Canyon cause it's to important to miss!

We've both changed and had numerous relationships between us but we genuinely love and care for one another like no else in our lives has.

We decided to get married on Halloween of 2004. It was a small but fun wedding. Everyone wore costumes! We were Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara! We rented a beautiful antebellum home and had ribs and bar-b-q at the reception.

It seems computers and the web have played a significant role in our lives, now I'm gonna try to start another chapter.
